frozen fingertips
the worst part is when feeling
begins to return
Everyone knows that feeling of pins and needles as you hold frostbitten fingers under warm water at the tap.
The season word is being used literally, but the poem feels mostly self-expressive.
Isn’t the poet really describing what we experience when feelings of cold indifference (or mere anger)
begin to recede and we are left with the rawness of disappointment or emotional pain?
